Description:
Specific temperature at which amorphous or partly crystalline polymers pass from the solid state into the liquid phase. When reaching the glass transition temperature, the physical properties of polymers, e.g. the permeability, change. At temperatures lower than the glass transition temperature, a polymer is vitreous and hard, above the glass transition temperature it passes into a soft, amorphous state.
