Fluorine is the most electronegative and the most reactive nonmetal within the periodic table. The only element which has a smaller atomic radius than fluorine is the hydrogen atom. The reaction between fluorine and carbon leads to a very short and strong bond which is mainly responsible for the extraordinary properties of the fluoropolymers.<\/p>\n<p>The mainproperties of fluoropolymers are: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>chemical inert<\/li>\n<li>non-toxic<\/li>\n<li>not wettable<\/li>\n<li>low friction coefficient<\/li>\n<li>difficult to flammable<\/li>\n<li>low dielectric constant<\/li>\n<li>high temperature resistivity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Due to this extraordinary properties fluoropolymers are used in such areas where metals und low-cost plastics cannot be used. Although fluoropolymers are expansive using fluoropolymers can reduce the amount of whole production costs.
