Polybutylene-Terephthalate (PBT)

Polybutylene-Terephthalate (PBT)Description:

This semi-cyrstalline, white or whiteish looking polyester composed of dimethyl-therephthalate and butanediole can be compared to polyethylene-therephthalate (PET) concerning its composition as well as its properties. PBT is a slightly less strong and rigid than PET as well as a bit softer, but it features a better impact-strength and a similar resistance to chemical substances. PBT crystallises faster than PET, so it is preferred to PET for high throughput industrial moulding applications.

Usage:

Electronic parts, components for the automobile industry, boxes for electric powered tools

Formula:

Polybutylene-Terephthalate (PBT)

Category:
Thermoplastic
