PBI zeichnet sich durch eine hohe Glas\u00fcbergangstemperatur aus, die im Bereich von 425-450 \u00b0C liegt. Zersetzung des Polymers setzt in Gegenwart von Luft bereits bei 200 \u00b0C ein. Bei Luftausschluss erh\u00f6ht sich die Zersetzungstemperatur auf \u00fcber 500 \u00b0C.
