PEN ist halbkristallin und farblos, wobei entweder eine kristallklare oder etwas milchige Optik auftreten kann. PEN weisen au\u00dferdem eine h\u00f6here Best\u00e4ndigkeit gegen\u00fcber UV-Strahlung und bessere Sperreigenschaften als PET auf.
