Barrier Coating

BarrierebeschichtungCategory
definitionDescription
Coating that prevents a substance from permeating through a such protected surface.Materials whose permeability is low in genereal are preferred, e.g. aluminium. In order to keep certain properties (such as flexibility) which would be cancelled by using metal coatings, special barriers are used in several cases. Those films are especially impermeable for chosen permeates but possibly no barriers for some other permeates.
